Peterhead Methodist Church

The Banner Team started around 1993. Anne Collison and Christian Ritchie met each week for a few years making banners for the Church.

After a break, the present Team started in 1999. Our first project, under the guidance and inspiration of Zena DeVine, was a Millennium Banner. Every group in our Church is represented by an appropriate design.

A group of ladies meet each Monday in the Church hall. The present team are Zena DeVine, Mary Yule, Evelyn Murray, Betty Buchan, Nora Bruce, Katherine Penney and Maureen McDonald.

To date we have made a banner for each Christian festival, a Pulpit Fall and Communion Table Runners and a wall hanging for the front of the Church. We also make items for other groups in our Church - Table cloths for the Sisterhood, Nativity costumes for the Sunday School, Flags and blankets for Ghana, Cusion for Fusion Club and Flags for the Dance Group.

Once a year we have a sales table along with the Sisterhood coffee morning. The work is ongoing with repairs to existing banner and creating new ones.
